Sherlock Holmes

And here is a snippet of my favorite book Sherlock Holmes.   It is from The Speckled Band.

 The ejaculation had been drawn from my companion by the fact that our door had been suddenly dashed open, and that a huge man had framed himself in the aperture.  His costume was a peculiar mixture of the professional and of the agricultural, having a black top hat, a long frock-coat, and a pair of high gaiters, with a hunting-crop swinging in his hand.   So tall was he that his hat actually brushed the cross-bar of the doorway, and his breadth seemed to span it across from side to side.   A large face, seared with a thousand wrinkles, burned yellow with the sun, and marked with every evil passion, was turned from one to the other of us, while his deep-set, bile-shot eyes, and his high, thin, fleshless nos, gave him somewhat the resemblance to a fierce bird of prey.

 “Which of you is Holmes?” asked this apparition.

  “My name, sire; but you have the advantage of me,” said my companion quietly.

  “I am Dr. Grimesby Roylott, of Stoke Moran.”

  “Indeed, Doctor,” said Holmes blandly.  “Pray take a seat.”

  “I will do nothing of the kind.   My stepdaughter has been here.  I have traced her.   What has she been saying to you?”

  It is a little cold for the time of year,” said Holmes.

  “What has she been saying to you?” screamed the old man furiously.

   “But I have heard that the crocuses promise wall,” continued my companion imperturbably.

  “Ha!  you put me off, do you?” said our new visitor, taking a step forward and shaking his hunting-crop.  “I know you, you scoundrel!  I have heard of you before.  You are Homes, The meddler.”

My friend smiled.

“Holmes the busybody!”

His smile broadened.

“Holmes, the Scotland Yard jack-n-office!”

Holmes chuckled heartily.  “Your conversation is most entertaining, ” said he.   “when you go out close the door, for there is a decided draft.

“I will go when I have said my say.  Don’t you dare try to meddle with my affairs.   I know that Miss Stoner has been here, I traced her!  I am a dangerous man to fall foul of!  See here. ”  He stepped swiftly forward, seized the poker, and bent it into a curve with his huge brown hands. 

“See that you keep yourself out of my grip,” he snarled, and hurling the twisted poker into the fireplace he strode out of the room.

“He seems a very amiable person,” said Holmes, laughing.  “I am not quite so bulky, but if he had remained I might have shown him that my grip was not much more feeble than his own.”  As he spoke he picked up the steel poker, and with a sudden effort straightened it out again.  “Fancy his having the insolence to confound me with the official detective force!”

Okay, so my Mom set of this new rule that we can only have 15 minutes a day during the week, but on Saturday we can have at it. 🙂   So I won’t be able to post all that much. 🙂

Speaking with an English accent is hard!

Okay, lately I have been in one of those moods where your mind goes all over the board.  Anyway, right now I have been trying talking with an English accent and…ladies and gentlemen, IT IS HARD!!  I try doing it while reading Sherlock Holmes and it is fun but…WOW!

So here is how my Weird Mind is working lately (I will try to sum it up quickly for you)

I wonder how Haiti is doing, oh, I got to make Fritters friday, oh wait, what about school, I need to go read some more, I need a break, oh good grief I forgot and left the candle going, oh I got to go check my sisters blogs, wait, did I do that school project, oh and did I see that video a while ago, I wonder what I would be doing if I was in New York…?

As you can see, I am not quite right up there *points at head*.

Catching Up

Okay, since I have not been on the computer for two weeks I will let you all in on what was going on.

Today:  My brother has the Flu, and my Dad has the cold, and my Sister has to go to the dentist twice and the Orthodontist once, so he can already see what kind of day this is going to be.

Tuesday:  School…boring old school. 🙂 

Monday:  I had to go to the Orthodontist which is about a half an hour away. 🙂  Then I went to Target with my Mom.

Sunday:  Went to Church, then we went shopping and I got a pair on tennis shoes and a pair of knee high black boots.  Then we went to Target and we gat leggings. 🙂  Then we went out to Lunch at Moe’s (a delicious Mexican restaurant) and I got a Billy Baru (which is a nacho:)  then we went to see the Voyage of the Dawn Treader and it SNOWED!!!!!!

Saturday:  Probably slept the way through the day. 🙂

And the rest of the time was school. 🙂  I am sorry for having forgotten a lot of the past weeks, but that is me. 🙂

At the Theater

Okay this is me in front of a Snowman!!! 🙂  No really it is a snowman!  But anyway, this was in the Theater Lobby and Dad wanted to take a picture of me on his Iphone. 🙂  So I posed and I am not sure what he said but it made me laugh and he took it right when I laughed. 🙂    Oh and by the way, at the theater I saw what is coming to theaters soon…if your a Justin Beiber fan (which I am not) the was a full-scale picture of him for his movie that is coming out soon. *shudders*

Merry Christmas everyone!!  I am leaving the computer for two weeks so I will post
